Angst began when John Blonde was in 8th grade. He and his friends started a band to open for a show in Nate Richards backyard. The band then was known as the "Shaved Monkeys", because they didn't have a name and the crowd just started calling them that. The band consisted of John Blonde on lead vocals and guitar, Andrew Rose on bass, Joe Bocutto on drums, and Kevin Owens on Rhythm guitar. The show wasn't much of a success for the band, but John Blonde strived to make the band a success.
After the show the band broke up, except for Kevin Owens and John Blonde, the two went on to form the band known as Angst. Joe Bocutto went on to join various bands, including a death metal band called With Immortality. No one really knows where Andrew Rose disappeared to. Meanwhile, Kevin and John picked up bassist Steve Marinari, and Kevin's younger brother Mike as the drummer. Bob Fritz joined the band as lead guitarist, and soon after Marinari left the band and Matt Aaronson joined as bassist. The band continued this way, they played several small gigs, including "The Mic and Andy Show" on Ridley school district TV . The band was very primitive in that time, and would definitely be considered nothing more than a garage band. After awhile, Matt Aaronson left the band and Pete Langin joined as the bass player. The band practiced and played shows, and was somewhat successful as they started to gain a small following. In 1998 the band released an EP (Pimpin' it for the People) with 4 songs, this CD showed how Angst has grown and is surely talented. The band had acquired a practice studio from Till-dogg and had also gained a fairly large following from constantly playing shows. After a tiresome dispute with Kevin Owens about not wanting to pay money for their practice space, Kevin was kicked out of Angst. The band continued with Bob fritz as lead guitarist, Mike Owens on Drums, John Blonde on vocals, and Pete Langin on Bass.
In January of 1999, Angst completed a 12-hour recording session at Indre Studios.  The full length album (13 tracks) named "One Nation Under a Pimp", was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the band.  Since the "expulsion" of Kevin Owens the band had been looking for another guitar player.  They tried out several, but none would suffice.  However, In early March of 1999, Rob Webber agreed to join the band.  The bands latest (and hopefully the final) lineup is:  John Blonde -Vocals, Bob Fritz - Guitar, Pete Langin - Bass, Rob Webber - Guitar/Backing Vocals, and Mike Owens - Drums.  Angst continues to keep its tradmark sound, but watch out for the new songs, they show the truest form of ANGST.
